Overview
EECG has a participatory research approach to address how workforce development can better integrate their work with the needs of the communities they serve to support improved outcomes. Through discussions, advancing reparative actions, and learning from affected communities, the project aims to bring about systemic change.
Goals
Explore how California’s public workforce development system, across Alameda, Contra Costa, and Solano counties, has been and can continue to be a source of repair, emphasizing equity for marginalized communities.
Generate research incorporating voices of workforce leaders, professionals, and clients to create resources for repair for both WFD professionals and their clients.
To create systemic change!
This research will include WFD professionals from all Workforce Development Boards in the Bay Area and many of the workforce development focused community-based organizations.
Join us on Dec 12th to hear the outcomes and celebrate our research partners!

Are you a workforce development (WFD) professional working in Alameda, Contra Costa, and Solano Counties?
Please consider joining this research today!
Leaders will be offered one-on-one interviews.
Professionals will have the chance to be a part of focus groups scheduled for after work times and surveys completed on their own time.
As a part of our equitable approach we want to value your time, knowledge, and lived experience.
As a Thank You for being a part of the research:
We will start by conducting info sessions with local WFD boards, AJCs, WFD community-based organizations to spread awareness of the research.
WFD professionals and staff will be invited to focus groups while WFD leaders will be invited to one-on-one interviews.
We hope to engage 150+ WFD professionals across all levels of service.
We will use this time to conduct data analysis from all engagements and interactions with the Bay Area WFD field. We will create resources that align with the data collected from the field. At this point we may reach out and survey staff about the resources as we create them to ensure the resources will be helpful; creating resources based on the actual needs of the Bay Area WFD professionals!
At the end of the research, let's all gather to celebrate giving voice to the WFD field of the Bay Area! We will debut the resources created and begin discussions on how to best use the research data to support funding, change, and new innovations for WFD in the Bay Area.
We plan to have a hybrid event where to ensure that as many of the research participants and partners are able to attend.
